We recommend our premium matt finish for service tags rather than high gloss — the matt surface takes permanent marker cleanly, so dates and initials can be added on site by hand.

Tough enough for the job

Rigid waterproof plastic with a punched hole (5mm diameter, positioned anywhere around the edge, approximately 5mm in) for a zip tie. It will not curl in the heat of an airing cupboard or tear off like a paper label.

Service tags and the rules gas engineers work to

In the UK, anyone carrying out work on gas appliances must be on the Gas Safe Register — it is a legal requirement, not a trade badge. Landlords have duties of their own under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998: an annual gas safety check on every appliance and flue, carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, with a record kept and a copy provided to tenants. Most boiler manufacturers also require annual servicing to keep the warranty valid.

A durable service tag on the boiler turns those obligations into a visible schedule. The householder sees at a glance when the appliance was last serviced and when the next visit is due — and your name and number are right there when they book it. That single tag is often the difference between a one-off job and a customer who calls you every year.

Built for boiler cupboards, not desk drawers

Boiler cupboards are warm, occasionally damp and rarely gentle on paper stickers, which curl and fade within a season or two. A rigid PVC tag with a write-on service grid takes marker pen cleanly, wipes free of dust and stays legible for years of annual entries — hanging from the isolation valve or fixed beside the appliance, whichever suits the way you work.
